Petite Level

These classes are designed specifically for our dancers ages 6 through 8.

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.

Students may wear any clothing that allows free body movement and tennis shoes/sneakers. 

Jazz

Jazz classes are fun and energetic. They include such elements as kicks, leaps, turns, splits, and isolations. Classes include stretch and strengthening exercises, floor work, and across the floor progressions in addition to center floor combinations. 





Students may wear any type of dance attire. For shoes, tan jazz shoes. Hair should be secure and off of the face.


 

Tap

Tap is a style involving rhythm, dynamics, and varying sounds. Tappers will have a graduated warm-up to loosen their ankles and knees for proper execution of skills, across the floor progressions and have center floor work to learn and perfect new skills. Dancers will learn a variety of tap styles such as musical theatre/Broadway to rhythm, jazz tapping.

Students may wear any type of dance attire (ie. athletic wear, leggings and a shirt) and black tap shoes.  Hair should be secure and off of the face. 

Acro

Acro is not the typical tumbling or gymnastics class. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks.  Advanced classes will also incorporate tumbling tricks such as handsprings and aerials. Classes will consist of stretching, conditioning, and practicing tricks down the mat.

Students may wear any type of dance attire and will go barefoot. Hair should be secure and off of the face.

Each class will perform 1 routine in the production!
